Born Carmine John Granito on August 22, 1945 in Staten Island, NY, Ron Dante is a pop singer-songwriter and producer known for his smooth youthful voice, especially the 1969 #1 hit “Sugar, Sugar” by The Archies and the Top-10 “Tracy” by The Cuff Links. He produced Barry Manilow’s first nine albums and won a Tony for producing Ain’t Misbehavin’ on Broadway in 1978. His latest release is the 2025 EP ‘‘Sugar Sugar (2025 Remix).’’
